WHAT IS THE BLOODMOON CHOSEN?

The Bloodmoon Chosen is a Horde guild on the Argent Dawn role-playing server created with the intention of including all different races, classes, and play styles within the realms of what is allowed on a role-playing server. We are a multi-faceted guild, catering to all aspects of the game (PVP, RP, Raiding), with our main focus on the friendships we have all made within the realm of Azeroth. These friendships will be enhanced through the in game dynamics of raiding, leveling, and role-playing together whenever possible.

GUILD PURPOSE:

1. Friendship -
The overall and greatest purpose of the Bloodmoon Chosen is to allow good people to come together and co-ordinate playing Horde characters. As such we should all be trying to help each other out when possible and be good citizens both within the guild and the server itself.

2. Fun -
The main point of playing this game is FUN. When fun is being compromised for any reason other than it infringes upon someone else's fun, it's time to step back and try to look at the situation objectively.

3. Prosperity -
By working together we can accomplish much more. Please try to help those that need gear, consider crafting items for those that need them or gathering materials for our crafters when possible. We all know how hard it is to get resist gear sometimes! Try to give items away to guild members first. We are all allies. If a lot of materials go into making an item, it is okay to charge a guildie for the materials that are hard to come by or they can't replace, but we will not tolerate taking advantage of guildies in any transactions. Just be fair and use common sense, you know what parts go into making the items.

4. Role-playing -
It is our intent to play on a role-playing server. Consider making some effort to get into your character when interacting with others. We have all been called by Elune's war aspect from all walks of life to fight together in saving Azeroth from the scourge and the burning legion, and have now even been sent to the outlands. Perhaps Elune has called to you personally? If so, we want to hear about it! Writing up character histories and role-playing are both strongly encouraged. The "Legends and Fables" section in the forum is for this purpose and that particular forum is intended to be in character.

GUILD RULES/POLICIES:

These are the ground rules. If you have any conflicts or problems with myself or the guild policies please contact myself or an officer about it privately for discussion before bringing it to public attention.

1. Blizzard's Rules -
Please obey Blizzard's Terms of Service (TOS) agreement in all that you do. Not only could you get yourself banned if you do not but you could reflect poorly upon your guild. Blizzard especially does not appreciate racist/sexist/etc comments of hatred or prejudice so please think about such comments.

2. Role-playing -
The Bloodmoon Chosen was designed to be a role-playing guild, we have since moved more towards a more casual style. HOWEVER: You are required to obey the rules of the role-playing servers. If someone asks you to stop speaking out of character in one of these channels, please do so.

Tip - one good way to avoid going "out of character" is to avoid abbreviations when talking in "say" and "yell," for example "lol" or "thx". It is better to type such things out in full when "in character". In guild chat there is no need for these concerns. Finally, it is important when role-playing to respect other's storylines. This is a hard concept to explain but it is considered rude when role-playing to dictate pieces of the stories of others. Likewise if you come into an in character conflict with someone that feels like it's getting a little too close to being out of character, just wander off and find something else to do. As Blizzard says, respect the storylines of others, and expect them to do the same to you.

3. Take the Moral High Ground -
As members of this guild group with non-guild players our guild gains a reputation. Every action you take can affect that reputation. Try to be the kind of player you would like to group with and if things do take a turn for the worse try to be the "bigger player". In the end it is just a game and that is a good thing to remember.

When doing instances or raids with groups many people get sensitive about the looting rules while some really don't care much. Try to make sure you understand the rules for looting in the group you are in. We take great pride in the reputation that comes with guild, and anything unbecoming a BMC guild member will be swiftly dealt with.

4. Conflicts and Conflict Resolution -
In a game as massive as World of Warcraft, conflicts are going to arise no matter what. If you have a conflict with someone I ask that you first try to politely work it out with them yourself. If this does not resolve the issue you can bring it to the Bloodmoon, Eclipse or a game master as appropriate. Remember rule #3 in all your attempts to resolve conflicts - Take the Moral High Ground.

5. Cooperation and Expectations -
As members of The Bloodmoon Chosen we are all brothers and sisters. It is strongly encouraged that you try to help out guild members when you can and share the wealth, or craft for each other. However, do not be generous to a fault. You should share and help out your brethren, but you should also be able to enjoy the spoils of your battles as well. Always feel comfortable to ask for help with any given quest, run, or an item needing to be crafted, etc. in guild chat, we try to help each other as much as possible, but DO NOT be offended when someone is unavailable to help. It is going to happen. If somebody is available to help run your low level enchanter to Uldaman for the next training, that is great, but do not expect people to drop what they are doing and come running when you do ask.

Also, we all leveled by finding help in various places, the guild, other people in the area doing the same quests, and yes, even the pug, so please do not expect to be run through every low level instance so that you can catch up. I reiterate, we will help when we can, but we will not power level and run you through everything either. Keep that in mind if you are looking for a guild to be power leveled up through so that you can raid with the 70's.

Many people help in their own way, when they are able to, so do not misunderstand a non-response to a help request to run through lbrs as nobody caring, it's just that nobody is available at that moment to help. Whether it be they are already busy, not going to be on that long, or already have plans, do not take it personally if nobody can help at that time and please do not feel the need to keep pestering everyone. Be comfortable asking, and know that we do our best to try, but remember you can find your own way to have fun in the game and get through things as well. You might even make some good friends in the process.

6. Alts -
"Alts", or secondary (tertiary etc) characters are welcome and encouraged within the Bloodmoon Chosen. If you are a guild member any alts you create on the appropriate server may also join the guild. It is perfectly okay to ask for gear or items for alts from the guild, but try to give everyone's "main", or primary character, a chance at it first. If you are grouping with an alt however you have the same right to loot as everyone else. Keep in mind that any alts that have not been played 3 months or more will be removed from the guild whenever "spring cleaning" comes around. Just to keep the guild roster as clean as possible.

7. Events -
We try to hold regular events for the Bloodmoon Chosen. These are held in character so they are role-playing events although we try to include some PVP action and keep them fun for everyone when we can. If you are attending an event hosted by another guild please try to be respectful, and obey any rules or requests they lay out and always remain in character in whatever channel they are using for communication.

If you are interested in organizing an event we are always happy to hear from you and you are encouraged to take a role in helping promote events that help bring the guild together. It is also a great way to bring the members together for a night of just hanging out, especially during slow raiding times and everyone does not get to see each other that often. So plan away, assure that the BMC stays fun and keeps doing fun things, believe me, help is always appreciated!

8. Guild Meetings -
The Bloodmoon Chosen try to meet regularly in game. We shoot for once a month, at varied locations throughout Azeroth. These meetings are held in character and are just for fun social gatherings and bringing in the new BMC for the month. We may have raids or other events afterwards. Attendance at guild meetings is encouraged and hopefully everyone can make it a point to be there when we have them. All promotions take place at guild meetings.

9. Guild Channels -
In guild channels and guild parties you can speak more freely than in public channels, parties, or using the "say" or "yell" command. It is still very important to try not to offend your fellow guild members, but otherwise just enjoy yourself. It is okay to use the guild channel to hang out in and get caught up with the recent guild happenings, see if you can find a guild group for the evening, ask questions about any of the crafting professions or clarification on quests, etc.

Use common sense though when things get sticky. As with any social situation, hot topics such as politics or religion can get a bit touchy at times. If any topic such as this comes up and it gets more involved then the basic passing conversation, please continue it in tells if you wish, but at that point it is good policy to take it out of the guild channel. Also, if someone is talking about an offensive topic in the guild channel and any member asks you to take it out of guild chat, you will be expected to do so. If at this point it is not taken from guild chat, you will be reported to an officer, unless it was an officer that asked you to take it to tells, then you will be placed in the time out corner (with no guild speaking privileges) and referred to the disciplinary committee. So in effect, avoid all of those possibilities by being respectful to each other in all channels, as it is expected that all members of the BMC act with maturity at all times in the game, assuring that everyone continues to have a good time.

Please note that the "/g" guild channel is free to be in or out of character as you will, is encouraged to be used to role play as much as you'd like, and is not restricted to "game related" conversation.

10. PVP and Griefing Policy -
Any sort of intentional harassment or attempt to trick an alliance player into flagging is considered "Griefing" and is not allowed in The Bloodmoon Chosen. In addition we do not permit repeatedly killing any alliance NPC that is not a guard (quest givers, merchants, etc) for any reason whatsoever. It is also not permitted to go to low level areas and kill non-guard NPCs. Any NPC that attacks you may be killed in self defense of course, and you are free to attack guards at will. If you do grief an area, are asked to stop, and you refuse to do so, it will be an automatic expulsion from the guild, for that is just bad form and does not look good for anyone in the guild to have griefers with the guild tag under their name. It is understood and accepted that accidents will happen, but effort must be made to focus on PVP flagged alliance and guards when doing PVP. Obviously this policy does not apply in the Battlegrounds in any way. In raid situations in non-low level areas it is understandable those NPCs will get targeted and killed accidentally but let's make an effort to focus on guards and flagged PCs.

11. Recruitment -
If any guild member has a friend, in game or out of game that is playing World of Warcraft they are encouraged to apply for membership. Our guild reputation is important and the actions of any guild member do reflect somewhat on all of us so that is important. While we prefer recruiting friends, we are open to those who would like to join. We are a relaxed, "older" guild, in age in game, and in real life. With that being stated, we are open to a more mature crowd, who are interested in making some great friends and enjoying the content.

Anyone interested in membership must fill out an application in the New Blood -> Applications forum. At that point all members of the guild have the opportunity to greet the potential member, ask them questions, or indicate their interest in sponsoring the new member for membership. Every applicant must obtain at least two sponsors of Theurge rank or higher within one month of their application in order to be invited into the guild. This encourages potential members to group with existing members regularly in order to get to know them. New members will be of Initiate rank for a probationary period of one month. At the end of said month, provided the recruit is still a good fit and happy, said recruit would be promoted out of Initiate status.

12. Issues Between Other Guilds -
In a game of this size with this many participants there are bound to be issues between some of them. The Bloodmoon Chosen seeks to have amiable relations with everyone. We are not looking for enemies and even where we have positive relations with other guilds we are not interested in taking part in any Out of Character conflicts they may have with other guilds. Taking sides in conflicts like this will only reduce our ability to group with people and cause us to have to waste our time with unnecessary diplomacy and drama. We will only step in if absolutely necessary.

13. Concerning Alts -
While we welcome and encourage players to bring alts into the guild, we must state that you are required to keep your main in to keep the alts. Removal of a toon to join another guild will be looked into seriously, with a punishment involving removal from the guild. As we are a raiding, PVP, and RP guild essentially, there is no reason to remove toons from this guild to join to another. If there are special circumstances, one deemed worthy by the Bloodmoon or Eclipses, a special allowance may be made. That decision is ultimately up to the Bloodmoon and Eclipses.

14. Guild Removal -
There are unfortunately times when members join and we find out later that they really are just not a fit for the BMC. There are a variety of reasons that guild removal may happen, luckily none of which happen too frequently.

    Some of the removal guidelines....

-If a member does something unbecoming a member of BMC, whether it be putting down a member in guild, acting poorly on a raid or in a group, being disrespectful in public channels, cheating somebody in a trade deal, etc. they will be referred to the disciplinary committee. The committee will then decide the degree of the infraction and decide the appropriate punishment, be it rank demotion, sitting out of raiding, unable to talk in guild chat, or even potentially guild removal if the infraction is serious enough. They take into consideration the offense and try to come up with an appropriate related way to deal with it, and vote on it accordingly to assure the fairness of the decision. If the disciplinary committee decides on removal, it is supported by the other officers and guild leader.

Remember, any member can bring an issue to the disciplinary committee if they feel it needs to be taken care of. Just bring the issue up to any available officer.

-Unfortunately sometimes members join and we find out later that they really just don't fit in well. Not saying that there isn't a guild out there perfect for them, it just turns out that the BMC is not that place. In this case, once the person's name has been brought up to an officer, or an officer brings it up as a potential non-fit, discussion will take place among the Chieftain's Hut to determine what it is about the person that is not fitting, decide if it's something that can be worked on, or just an inherent trait causing the clash, and a vote will then be taken amongst all of the officers to decide if any changes need to be take place.

Because all members have different interactions with people, and observe different behaviors as we are all on at different times, many different points of view are brought up in these discussions. Because of this, a majority vote is required at this point for the member to be removed, and they will unfortunately be removed from the BMC but with all hopes that they do find the place they are looking for.

-If any member is directly asked to do something by an officer, such as taking something out of guild chat, and are blatantly ignored, the officer will move them to the time out corner until the disciplinary committee decides how they are to be handled. Respect for others is a strong belief of the BMC, and this type of blatant disrespect may warrant harsh action, and potentially a guild boot. Disrespect is an easy way to find yourself not a member of the BMC anymore.

-In the rare circumstance that any infraction is serious enough for automatic guild removal, the Bloodmoon may make any overriding decisions to remove a player for the betterment of the guild if immediate action is necessary.

15. Expected behavior in groups/raids -
It is expected that one behave appropriately during guild raids or groups. Please be considerate of others when deciding things like cursing, other inappropriate actions. Also, abrupt leaving of a group for no reason is unacceptable. If Real Life steps in, that's fine, mention it. But dropping out and leaving others high and dry because an instance is going rougher than originally thought is not. If you feel you have to leave a group, inform fellow players of it, and try to be helpful; try to find a replacement. This kind of activity is subject to punishment.

16. Not In The Rules? Just Ask ?
These rules are intended to cover the bases of expected behavior within The Bloodmoon Chosen. If you have any questions or require clarification just ask. I try very hard to be approachable and helpful to all guild members.

RANKS:
Ranks will be determined by several factors, including: Player experience, guild participation, guild helpfulness, character experience, and any acts that deserve special recognition. All promotions will happen at our regular guild meetings.

Bloodmoon - The poor soul who is the figurehead of the guild... (Eclipse hold the true powah)

Eclipse - Guild Officers who are responsible to act in the Bloodmoon's absence. Entitled to discipline and, if warranted and agreed by most of them, can remove individuals from the guild.

Ahroun - A rank of a very select few. People who have gone above and beyond what it means to be a member of BMC. These guys have demonstrated they know exactly what is to be BMC. Helpful, friendly, unselfish and uncompromising the guild in anyway.

Galliard - Long term members of the guild. Veteran players.

Time in BMC is not the only deciding factor.

Theurge - Guildies who have passed the initiate stage and are in keeping with the BMC workings.

Ragabash - The horde. People who have gone through the trials and succeeded. Members of BMC in good standing.

Initiate - New inductees running their trial period of BMC. Initiate status lasts a minimum of 1 month, can go longer if we have not got to know the person well enough.

Miakoda - These are the lost Chosen, if you have not been in game for some time, you will be put here. If there is no explanation given for absences longer than 5 months, come the 6th month, members will be removed.

Time Out Corner - This is reserved for those who have become a disruption to general guild chat, whether it is through argument, spamming, or pissing off the Eclipse and Bloodmoon. Is sometimes used in jest for those silly souls who feel the need to poke the bears. Of course, majority of the time, you're in there because you most likely deserved it.

    Rainz - Officer
